Trish Preston of Two Peas in a Pod Homegrown Designs is no stranger to the words "chaos" and "multi-tasking". As the mother of identical twin girls and a new baby, Trish is used to the constant uproar she calls home and doing quite literally, "a million things at once". An educational background in environment and natural resources led to a career as a park ranger and later into higher education helping others find green careers. But Trish has always had a love of arts and crafts. Coming from a family of artists, painters, sculptors – her favorite memories include watching her grandfather paint and design for Robinson Ransbottom Pottery and was always encouraged to pursue her creative side. She started selling her crafts at the age of 6 when she went door to door selling original "artwork" for a nickel – and the rest, as they say, is history.

Thanks for introducing me to Two Peas in a Pod – awesome work! That bag so reminds me of my Mom, who loved owls. I still have owl pillow cases I embroidered for her in the mid 70s. And this owl is in her colors, too. I can’t help but think it’s supposed to be mine!

Just this Sunday I was photographing this fabulous red door sporting a holiday wreath. As I was setting up the shot I stepped back onto the icy street and started to slip. Trying to keep my composure, I let our a little “hoot” sound repeated twice. A guest at the inn stepped out and turned the corner and said, “oh that was you, I thought I heard an owl.” Hahaha!
