    Rae Sook says:

We learned one year ago that our 12 year old grand-daughter has cerebral palsy. She was referred to the Shriner Hospital in Louisiana which is where she was diagnosed. Since then she has had the opportunity to make friends with children from many areas and one in particular here in our home town who is wheelchair bound. They have become quite close since the school year began. It is my hope to make a lap quilt for my g’daughter and her new friend. The fabrics shown remind me of both girls and their “joie de vivre”. Sizzix dies would allow the girls to personalize their own quilts. Thank you for the opportunity to enter such a great contest!

A few of us here in Iwakuni, Japan will be starting a sewing group to bless those affected by the tsunami earlier in the year. SewLindaAnn says:

Okay, I’ve got this art quilt in my mind now because of those dies. The basic idea is a swamp, but a neat one. The horizontal die in shades of blue (dark, smokey grayish and green), the back ground would use those rounded heart like ones made into mountains, the would be rain drops coming down and stitched circles of water ripples. The paisleys would make a great school of colorful fish under the water with stitched features. I would use the last leaf like one and cut it into smaller wavy strips for water reeds. The fabric colors would be amazing in it. Obviously there would be lots left over to play with in other ways, and with holiday patchwork gifts being made would come in handy. Have a great weekend!

    Kim says:

In 2003 I went to school expecting a normal day and instead experienced deadly school violence. It was not taught that taking care of students would come at a cost for us. Nor did anyone teach that getting help is normal and a positive thing. Instead I fell into darkness for years. I am still recovering from PTSD and trying to teach the lessons I had to learn by losing nearly everything. My crafting supplies sat unused for years. I am color starved, when I look at your magazines, feel fabric, look at quilts it is hard to describe it’s like awakening. It is my goal to open a trauma education and support center where people do not have to sit alone at night while their brains try to process as the world is quiet. The dream is a place of white walls, colorful fabrics and paintings, warmth and love. A place where people can create and go from black (death/depression) and red (anger) to all the colors in a huge box of crayons. Because creativity, art and expression help process experiences, create relationships and help people tell their stories so they can heal. Still healing, Kim

What a wonderful giveaway! I’d probably start with some new pillow designs, or handbags..or maybe some mug mats, and eventually a quilt. There are so many possibilities it’s hard to pick just one. I would be very, very busy, that’s for certain! Thank you for the opportunity to enter this giveaway.

I have been eyeing the cutting machines but don’t have one yet. I don’t know where I would start since I would be so excited at the chance to use one. I love making fabric flowers but it takes me quite a while to cut the pieces by hand. Since I love cake decorating, I could use this to cut gumpaste pieces. I would absolutely love to win this machine.

Oh my what couldn’t I do. Well first I would make some fabulous purses. With the sizzix machine I could make appliques for my various purse styles. Or I could make lovely scarves, skirts for my daughter with cute appliques, and various christmas gifts such as ornaments and baby blankets. I would absolutly love to win this package. I could get back to my creative roots to create some pretty inspiring pieces. This would also afford me to the opportunity to get some new products into my etsy store. i could finally make those statement pieces I have been dreaming about but just don’t have the supplies and money to make those dreams come true.
Thanks for my consideration and I can’t wait to hear from you.
