For me, today is officially the beginning of the holiday season. I have been Chair of Ogden's Christmas Village for the past 7 years and tonight is our annual Electric Lights Parade and Lights On Ceremony to light the 59 cottages and over one million Christmas lights for the children and their families in our community. I love my Village, my committee works the entire year to create the magic of the season, and so for just a moment everyone forgets the day and becomes part of Santa and Christmas and the holiday spirit. There is a very nice article about Christmas Village in Phyllis Hoffman's Celebrate Magazine , which is on newsstands now.
What better way to kick off this marvelous holiday season than with a contest! Announcing "The Twelve Days Of Christmas": WWC style! Starting December first and continuing until December 12th at midnight (MST), we will feature a fabulous prize each day. These wonderful items have been generously donated by twelve talented artists and companies. You won't believe the beautiful items they have given us to share with you! You can enter each day by simply leaving a comment to the daily post. You can comment on any of the posts throughout the contest until the last day at midnight (MST), just be sure to only post once on each post, unless you have an additional entry. An Additional entry will be given if you put the "Twelve Days of Christmas" WWC image on your blog or website (widget available below), or by posting about the contest on your blog. You may add this one additional entry on every post by simply posting the word "blog" under your daily entry post (so you will post twice). We will use a random number generator to pick the winners and announce them on December 14th. Good luck! If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected]. Happy Holidays!
*Oh and the winner of the Princess Lasertron giveaway is Gabriela Segovia-McGahan! Congratulations! Special Thanks to Megan Hunt for donating this great prize. You'll love it Gabriela! Stay tuned for our next artist, Gianna Majzler …

Congratulations on the opening. It makes my heart swell to see what is being done. I grew up in Ogden, I remember when the Christmas village began, I was very little. I was there every year. I also remember it fading away and wanting to help restore it. But moving from Ogden made that impossible.
I’m excited about the 12 days of Christmas and I will put it on my side bar. I will be checking with you each day.
If I can help in any way in the future I would love to.

Miss your store (A LOTTTTT) but love your Where Women Create magazine…Christmas Village makes me very emotional because I took my children there when they were little and they’re 18 and 19 now. Ogden rocks the casbah and we don’t have Salt Lake smog!
