Fabulous Friday with Anj Snow

FF_Master

I'm thrilled down to my chipped toenails to be here!

I had to scoop my jaw up off the floor after being asked.

So I'm Anj.

Anj-1

And this photo says it all.

Happiness and chaos, sprinkled with hilarity.

Always the creative kid, cutting, glueing, drawing, and daydreaming.  Making stuff gave me a happy heart.  As I got older I pursued my talents by studying charcoal, oils, color theory and all of that artsy goodness.  I eventually received my bachelors in Art, with an emphasis in drawing and painting.

Then life got filled with stuff.  I always had grand ideas jam-packing my brain.  And most times I'd think to myself,  "Ooooh, I'll do that one day."  Meanwhile my brushes were collecting dust.  After all… there would always be time for creating tomorrow, right?

OK… deep breath… now I'm going to share something tender.

In 2006 we welcomed our third daughter, Evie.

We oohed and awed, kissed and loved her.

Then, 43 minutes later,  we had to say goodbye.

It's hard to explain but It was both heartbreaking and beautiful.

Evie ignited something in me.

The sky was bluer, the stars brighter, and time became oh so precious.

How often I had thought…

"I'll become that down the road."

"I'll be a better mother tomorrow."

"I'll create that later."

Unfortunately "in a while" doesn't always come.

I now had an urgent need, an overwhelming desire to create.  That part of me had been sleeping and when it emerged it was quite different.

Now much of my "creating" is inspired by my littles.

Anj-2

Decorating, birthdays, holidays, and involving my kids in the creative process!

Anj-3

My handsome, sweet, patient, did I mention handsome husband, sick of the trail of "craftiness," conceded to  a studio.

Perusing crafty blogs inspired me. Creative people make me happy and their creations make me even happier. So I quietly started blogging in 2009.

Now I'm finally starting to create my own "products."

I've got party printables and patterns from my night owl p.j. party, and my studio is currently overflowing with long stemmed fabric roses that are almost ready to make someones day .

Anj-4

So thats me, Anj. And I think life is pretty darn grand.

I'd love to meet you!  You can find me at

Snowybliss.blogspot.com or catch me on Facebook

Have a lovely day!

Thanks Anj.

~Nice to "meet" you~

So here's a story about Anj.

She created the most AMAZING party for her little girl.

How cute are those owls? So cute that people (including me!) were beating down Anj's door for a pattern. She complied and added them to her Etsy shop, plus a complete party pack that you can download and have your own "night owl" party! So I (of course!) have been sewing little owls like crazy!

They're so easy to sew and my kids LOVE them!

Give-Away

So how would you like to win a COMPLETE night owl party pack including the owl pattern, the adoption cards and cupcake toppers all for you to download, PLUS 1 dozen long stemmed fabric roses that Anj will create just for you.

Simply comment to this post and you're entered!

Don't worry if you aren't an accomplished sewist, the pattern is easy enough for a beginner. Good luck!

Once you sew one, you'll want to make a whole parliament (that's a group of owls)!

Thank you for being transparent, honest and sharing about the gift, love, grief and inspiration of Evie’s life. what a beautiful gift her life is in your life and others. It helps to keep working and discovering in my own journey through life as a school shooting survivor to understand other people’s journeys. Accepting that each person’s path is their own and can not be compared in accomplishments or time rather in discovering who they are. Challenging, changing and growing as we all are, Kimberly

I loved your post! I had seen your “Owl Party” a couple of weeks ago when I was looking for ideas for my daughter’s 6th birthday. I was so impressed with not only your party, but also with the love that went into creating the party for your daughter! I also try to make all the “little” events important in my children’s lives, so that they will always have those memories. The only difference is that I’m not nearly as talented as you are! Thank you for sharing with us, and I will be checking your blog out regularly!

What a inspirational story. I found Anj not that long ago because of this amazing Owl party. My daughter turns 6 in July and when I showed her pictures of this party she was so excited. So it would appear that this non sewing mom needs to get working on some little owls. Thanks for the great giveaway and the inspirational story.

My heart just has a connecting to Anj, although I don’t even know her. In September, I delivered twin girls, and Olivia wasn’t expected to make it at all. I was lucky enough to have her for 9 weeks, and I totally understand the need to make every minute count! I know some people think I’m crazy, but I need my children to look back and remember amazing things about their childhood- they’re the best gift ever! Thanks for the inspiration!
