Leigh Standley is the artist, writer and owner of Curly Girl Design, Inc. In it’s seven years, Curly Girl Design and Leigh’s line of clever and colorful greeting cards and gift items have taken the industry by delightful storm.
Focused on the magic of the small moments, her product peeks into the corners of life and taps into the hearts of all.Founded in 2003, the company began with just 12 greeting cards and grew steadily. Now with seven amazing full-time employees, it sells to more than 2300 shops nationwide and distributes to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. In 2008 Leigh began the process of licensing her art. Carefully choosing some of the most renowned and artist-driven companies to work with, her brand has expanded to include calendars, napkins, larger giftware items and a full line of holiday decor.
In 2005, Leigh was the recipient of her first LOUIE award for greeting card excellence and is nominated for 3 more in 2010. Her work and studio have been featured in creative publications like Where Women Create, Where Women Cook, Stationery Trends and Boho Magazine. Leigh believes firmly in the power of a creative community and the power of that community to unlock our truest selves.

“one of my all-time favorite event weekends of the year is RIGHT around the corner and I wanted to give it one last pitch. If there is any possibility at all of you joining me there, please do! You will not be sorry! The Creative Connection Event is held in St. Paul, Minnesota, Sept. 15-17th 2011. The list of incredible presenters, teachers, panelists (including yours truly) and sponsors is simply too long and amazing to list here, but take a gander at their website to get the gist.

this is My First Fabulous Friday & its aprapo you chose to feature Leigh…I’m a Curly Girl so Loveing Curly Girl Designs is Like Looking in the Mirror…Last year I recreated one of her Designs on My Wall Size Chalk Board and it was a Hit!
Saw her showroom in Atlanta last January! Exciting to see an artist take off!
Just love your creations, you have shown on display. As, for the apron it’s so vibrant and how the colors blend. Wouldn’t mind having one of those aprons to wear in Honolulu, Hi to represent your fabulous line of aprons and etc. Love it!
Just LOVE your Calendar with all the little quirkiness. With seven kids you need a calendar like this to keep you sane, upbeat, and happy reading, like on a hard day you reflect on your little quirky sayings and laugh to yourself and say “Oh Yeah!” Love It!

Curly Girl is the best. I love all her designs but my favorite is “The truth is, even if she weren’t my mom, I would go out of my way to be friends with her.” I gave this card to my mom during a critical time recently. It truly expressed my love and admiration for my mom as a person.

Love Leah and Curly Girl Designs! I recently made a huge, great, big, scary life change. I bought a few of her cards that spoke to my situation and framed them. I put them up in my new apartment, and they remind me daily that I am a brave woman.
