Hi, I’m Ali Edwards and my passion is that very special place where photos and words collide.
I started scrapbooking back in 2002 when my son Simon was 9 months old.
What started as a desire to create a simple, modern baby book has grown into a lifestyle, a profession, and love affair with telling the everyday stories of our lives. Learning about scrapbooking online (from twopeasinabucket.com) led to submitting layouts to scrapbook magazines (Creating Keepsakes and Scrapbooks etc) which led to teaching opportunities which led to writing books and eventually to product design.
In the middle of all that I started a blog in 2004. My blog has evolved over time from simply personal documentation of our days to a more general emphasis on telling stories, sharing projects, promoting products, memory keeping and encouraging others to share their own stories with words and photos.
These days I work from home with an office that is continually in progress. I’m a fan of mixing vintage with modern clean lines. I’m always conscious of the flow of my work and work best when things are within reach and uncluttered. I’m totally fine with a work in progress – it’s a great parallel to the work that I do everyday and the life I live.

Until I read Ali’s post, I couldn’t lay a finger on exactly why I’ve let scrapbooking take a back seat in my life. But she connected scrapbooking and blogging, and I think that’s why. I loved scrapbooking in the past, and I love blogging now. They’re almost one and the same–keeping track of our lives. I’d absolutely LOVE to win her class so I can get back into that part of my life again–and use up a ton of scrapbook papers I already have!

I have Ali to thank for actually making me fall in love w/scrapbooking again. When I first had started crafting I use to scrapbook but then learned about stamping and it seemed to get lost but last December she had December Daily I heard so much about it I had to go find out what it was. I’d just started scrapbooking – basically just photos and captions with a place to stick memorabilia from my trips. And then I found Ali’s book on using patterned paper. I must have unashamedly scraplifted practically every layout in the book. That would have been fine, except it started an addiction to patterned paper, which extended into the digital world! I must confess that my only ‘real’ paper scrapping these days are mini books usually to record any trips I’ve taken, and to use up the ephemera that accumulates during any vacation. I’d love to win this class – yet again Ali would prove to be an inspiration.
Every Friday is Fabulous to me because I have them off and that is when I do most of my scraping. I am currently taking one of Ali’s classes and I sure would like to take another. Thanks for the chance to win.
