Beth Quinn

Beth is a self taught jewelry and mixed media artist residing in Arizona. She is both a mother and wife and loves spending time with the 3 men in her life any chance she gets. Beth has had a passion for creating since she was a little girl. She was first introduced to metals at a young age in her father’s metal shop. As an inventor, metal worker and entrepreneur she was taught many skills from him and so began her journey …… since his passing in 2001 she has inherited all his metal tools…. Beth was also influenced by her grandmother’s creativity and love for making things…. Beth’s jewelry is full of her love for old , worn and shiny … she loves to combine texture to create jewelry that can be loved and cherished for years to come… She continues to share the passion of those before her by finding ways to create with things both old and new.

 Lisa Crone

Lisa Crone has been making beaded jewelry for over 20 years. She discovered a few years ago that the world around her is overflowing with design inspiration. It started with making jewelry to commemorate family vacations to Niagara Falls, San Francisco and the Caribbean. Making jewelry to represent favorite artwork and interesting scenery soon followed and inspired her to share this discovery with her fellow jewelry designers by writing a book. You can follow along on her design journey in her book, “A Bead in Time: 35 jewelry projects inspired by slices of life”.

 ~

Lisa is giving away a copy of her book along with a kit for making one of the most popular projects, Ode to the Dandelion bracelet pictured here.

You can visit Lisa on her blog, A Bead A Day, where she posts daily about beads, jewelry design and regularly features other jewelry designers and bead makers.

Wednesday Wisdom … The Southern Women's Show

CHA and WHERE WOMEN CREATE are going to be a big part of the Southern Women’s Show in Orlando October 13-16th.

The WWCreate team of demonstrators includes: Kathy Cano-Murillo – The Crafty Chica – and ILovetoCreate; Cathie Filian and Plaid; Cindy Cloward and Jina Barney of Riley Blake Designs; Leigh Standley of Curly Girl Design; and Shea Fragoso and Debbie Murray and A Gilded Life.

This is the first time that I have participated in a consumer show and I am so pleased that we have been invited to be part of an event that is as successful as this one.

I flew to Charlotte to meet the team at the Southern Women’s Show and was more than impressed. They are not only very good at their jobs but they are the essence of Southern hospitality and charm. It was such an honor for them to ask WHERE WOMEN CREATE to host the stage on which all of the CHA and handmade demonstrations will take place.

If you are close to Orlando, you must come to the event! If you are not, then we will update you daily as to all that is happening!

Visit their website: http://www.southernshows.com/wor/ and see EVERYTHING that will be part of these 4 days. Hope to see you there!

Much love always, Jo
